National Education and Innovation Dialogue 2025-sharing some key pointers

1. Research must be prioritized in universities. Examples of MIT, NUS and STEM based learning for developing problem solving, creativity and cognitive skills of students. Science and Technology investment is key driver here along with recent trends focus – AI, AR etc.
2. Bangladesh ranks 112 out of 138 countries in Global Knowledge Index (GKI) hence our knowledge must be prioritised.
3. With funding and support, University Grants Commission (UGC) should be committed to supporting universities with their PhD programs. A hybrid model between public and private universities can be the way forward.
4. Industry research and transformation centers must be prioritized with private sector leadership. Focus should also be on advanced libraries. Collaboration between policy makers, industry leaders and academia are required.
5. University taxation must be re-evaluated.
6. Discussion in education budget and way forward.
7. Partnership with top corporate houses for funding STEM based, business schools.
8. Global and Local talents combination- go GLOCAL.
9. Large student based of 26 Lakh, National Universities must be specialized in specific fields to better serve the nation.
